Building Engineer Technician , Shift Varies, Plant Operations

UC Health is hiring a full-time Building Engineer Technician for the Plant Operations department at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

The Building Engineer Technician will support the Medical Centers and deliver high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care and according to policy and procedures.

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Trade School Courses preferred.
  • Ability to read schematic drawings necessary for certain work.
  • Formal/Documented Trade Skills training preferred.

To provide repairs, perform preventative maintenance to facility systems and other miscellaneous service to support hospital functions, and non-medical hospital business office environment functions. This job is an IUOE union role.


  • Perform general maintenance duties on electrical lighting, nurse call system, HVAC, casework, heating, cooling, casework, windows, doors, plumbing, patient beds, and medical gas systems.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze problems, repair, and maintain systems which may include tube, ECI systems, and medical gas storage and systems.
  • Provide information and maintain required reports, logs, and records.
  • Assist other personnel as directed to ensure proper operation of facilities.
