Under the general supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, and according to standard procedure and scope of practices in the area(s) of responsibility, performs all duties necessary to coordinate the daily operations of all departmental services and programs as well as pharmacists and technicians working therein.Minimum Required: BS in Pharmacy. Preferred: PharmD preferred. | Required current state of Ohio Licensure as a Registered Pharmacist. Preferred: Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties Certification for specialty area of practice. | Minimum Required: 1 Year equivalent experience.PATIENT POPULATION - (CLINICAL ONLY):
• Engages in population appropriate communication.
• Has knowledge of growth and development milestones and tasks.
• Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment.
• Involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment and continuing care of the patient.
• Identifies any physical limitations of the patient and deploys intervention when necessary.
• Recognizes and responds appropriately to patients/families with behavioral health problems.
• Interprets population related data and plans care appropriately.
• Identifies and responds appropriately to different needs resulting from, unique psychological needs or those associated with religious / cultural norms.
• Performs treatments, administers medication or operates equipment safely.
• Recognizes and responds to signs/symptoms of abuse or neglect.

Staffing to maintain competence and provide coverage:
• Maintain a staffing component of approximately 25% of time.
• Assume responsibilities for other administrative and leadership personnel during temporary or planned vacancies within the area(s) of responsibility

Coordinate and direct operational activities within the area of responsibility. This includes the following activities:
• Assign staffing duties and responsibilities; regulate staffing based on planned and unplanned needs; assist in scheduling of staff department wide.
• Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to area of responsibility.
• Participate in department's performance improvement process.
• Develop, prepare, and maintain work/activity data and summary reports.
• Respond to the hospital's disaster plan.

Coordinate and give input on human resource activities within the area of responsibility. This includes the following activities:
• Interview and recommend selected applicants for employment.
• Assist in personnel orientation, training, and development.
• Contribute to the evaluation of personnel performance both professional, technical, and clerical staff.

Participate in the "on call" rotation among departmental leaders as required by scope of the practice area and department

As a representative of both UC Health and the Department of Pharmacy Services, promote a positive image in all dealings with all other UC Health employees and hospital guests.

Perform other related functions as needed and/or assigned by the Supervisor, Manager, or Director of Pharmacy ServicesPATIENT POPULATION - (CLINICAL ONLY):
