Reports to: Sr. Manager Brand Planning, Strategy & Operations

Location: Goleta, CA

The Role

The Manager, Brand Planning, Strategy & Operations UGG serves as planning partner to the Brand Product team. This individual will assist in the development of division-class level targets and develop style/color plans throughout the pre-season GTM process. This role focuses on developing, guiding, and aligning cross-functional teams around strategic, financial, and operational divisional targets and metrics within the UGG Brand. In addition, this role identifies opportunities to improve planning capabilities cross-functionally. This position will report to the Senior Manager Brand Planning, Strategy and Operations and will engage with a number of cross-functional teams including brand product, design, marketing, regional merchandising, regional planning, demand planning, and consumer insights.

Your Impact

Brand Planning & Strategy


  • Partner with division/category leads to develop seasonal targets in line with 5-year financial plans

  • Work with divisional leads to evaluate and quantify the impact of seasonal initiatives

  • Develop modeling and analysis for strategic growth categories

  • Lead the division/category financial planning process to develop seasonal targets and metrics (i.e., dollars, units, SKUs, margin, efficiency, etc.)

  • Partner with division/category product leads to ensure that MFP (merchandise financial plan) and range plans optimize the business based on seasonal strategies and financial targets

  • Support the publishing MFP 3 times per season in alignment with seasonal targets and long term plans

  • Ensure bottoms-up style/color plans align with MFP throughout planning season

  • Provide data-informed business analysis and recommendations to support decision making process

  • Coordinate measurement of operational targets, including establishing and monitoring critical Brand KPIs in partnership with product leads, enabling faster response to business performance

  • Develop ad-hoc research and reporting as requested; enabling team to stay better connected to shifts in market and business trends

  • Partner with product teams to design and develop meaningful reporting and presentation tools to improve data collection/management and reporting efforts to enhance decision-making, support for strategic initiatives and business development proposals

  • Share best practices and mentor Brand Planning team to develop a mindset and practice of strategic planning and data-driven decision making

  • Develop a culture and practice of continuous improvement; support and contribute to defining an evolving business model and structure

Brand Operations


  • Support standardization of ways of working within FLG planning

  • Support development of templates used by Brand teams throughout the GTM process

  • Identify gaps in data, hierarchy, and fields to drive consistency across brands and divisions and improve automated reporting and analysis

  • Support development of and utilization of systematic analysis of the business across products, channels, regions

  • Partner in data improvement discussions with regional teams to gain alignment and consistency

  • Support the improvement of communication touchpoints throughout the GTM process, drive efficiencies and adherence to the global GTM process

We'd love to hear from people with


  • 6-8 years' experience, progressive in responsibilities with diverse experience in 2 or more of the following areas: merchandise financial planning, strategic planning, product management, category management, or related fields, experience in footwear or apparel industry

  • Proven strategic planning and operational execution skill set with the ability to ideate solutions on a conceptual level and drive projects to successful conclusion

  • Retail industry experience with strong understanding of merchandising and category management, GTM processes, and product creation processes in a global matrix, multi-channel, multi-category environment

  • 3+ years leading a team of 2+ direct reports

  • Proven experience establishing vision, priorities, and goals, developing strategic and tactical plans, and advising cross-functional teams in accomplishing strategic initiatives

  • Proven track record in quickly gaining credibility and partnering collaboratively with business leaders and all levels of management. Must have demonstrated success working with senior executives on critical business issues

$120,000 - $130,000

The salary range posted reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in our Goleta, CA location. Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
