Vertiv has a transformational opportunity for a Director, Global Advanced Manufacturing Engineering leader to support a Global Sheet Metal fabrication as a subject matter expert (SME) at Vertiv, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our global data center infrastructure capabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to leverage your profound expertise in Sheet Metal Fabrication End-To-End Process; Developing Global Strategy, metal fabrication technology assessment, equipment recommendations, and enhance our internal sheet metal production processes. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will spearhead initiatives to optimize manufacturing workflows, ensuring efficiency, precision, and quality in every aspect of sheet metal fabrication. This position can bee filled in Westerville, Delaware, OH or Anderson, SC .

Your role will involve staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously innovate and elevate Vertiv's metal fabrications capabilities. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and implementation of standardized procedures, fostering a culture of excellence and reliability in metal fabrication production across our global operations. Beyond your technical proficiency, you will collaborate with various stakeholders, offering insights and recommendations to enhance product designs, troubleshoot manufacturing challenges, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our sheet metal capabilities. As a Sheet Metal Director at Vertiv, you will lead the enhancement of global data center infrastructure by leveraging your expertise in metal fabrication strategy, technology assessment, design, and manufacturing to optimize internal production processes and drive innovation within a global supply chain.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Present thought leadership with the Additive Manufacturing offering and process innovation to drive a world class 3D printing
  • Design, Develop and implement Global Sheet Metal fabrication strategy.
  • Spearhead initiatives to optimize sheet metal fabrication manufacturing workflows, ensuring efficiency and precision in production processes at Vertiv.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate and elevate metal fabrication capabilities in alignment with industry trends and best practices.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and advancements in sheet metal systems as well as driving the integration of automation technologies into Vertiv products.
  • Inform and guide continuous improvements within Vertiv's operations, based on our Strategic pillar of Vertiv Operating System
  • Design Develop and implement strategic and standardized procedures to establish a culture of excellence and reliability in sheet metal production across global facilities.
  • Provide technical leadership and support, driving initiatives to streamline production, reduce costs, and enhance overall operational effectiveness.
  • Offer insights and recommendations to enhance product designs and troubleshoot manufacturing challenges in collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of cutting-edge solutions, ensuring Vertiv remains at the forefront of data center infrastructure technology.
  • Shape the long-term future of Vertiv's data center solutions by leveraging your sheet metal expertise to guide the company in maintaining a leading position in the industry.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
  • Advanced degree and relevant certifications would be a plus.
  • Proven experience or expertise in sheet metal fabrication is a must
  • Proven experience as a Sheet Metal SME, with a minimum of +15 years in a similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of metal fabrication technology, equipment, design principles, and manufacturing processes, showcasing
  • expertise in optimizing workflows for efficiency and precision.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing and refining standardized procedures to enhance reliability and excellence in sheet metal production on a global scale.
  • Track record of staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to sheet metal systems, and a proactive approach to integrating innovative solutions into operational processes.
  • Extensive experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, providing technical leadership, and driving initiatives to streamline production while reducing costs with global scope
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to troubleshoot manufacturing challenges and propose effective solutions.
  • Experience in contributing to the design and implementation of cutting-edge solutions that advance technological capabilities in sheet metal fabrication.
