The Office of Advancementin The Grainger College of Engineering seeks applicants for an Assistant Director of Alumni and Donor Engagement position. This position is responsible for executing strategies for alumni and student engagement programs. The position will be responsible for the planning, coordination, promotion, and implementation of various donor, alumni, and student-related events and programs. The role is also responsible for working with the Associate Director of Alumni and Donor Engagement for the implementation of strategic initiatives that drive alumni engagement and fundraising for The Grainger College of Engineering.



Duties and Responsibilities:



• Strategize, develop and implement programs and opportunities that engage domestic and international alumni, donors and friends with the college and campus:


o Coordinate complex activities and programming that enhance the donor-centric stewardship program of The Grainger College of Engineering.


o Plan, coordinate, and staff various donor, alumni, faculty, and student-related events and programs, both in-person and virtually in collaboration with Marketing and Communications


o Manage scheduling, project planning timelines, and communications related to planned activities


o Coordinate with College departments with department-level events and activities


o Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications and Advancement teams to develop relevant and effective marketing related to planned activities and programming and provide input and ideas for electronic communications, website content and other on-going communications with alumni and students, and other constituencies and stakeholders


• Assist with volunteer recruiting, training and management to deliver comprehensive and meaningful engagement experiences that build our volunteer's affinity to The Grainger College of Engineering and the University of Illinois.


• Responsible for accurately and comprehensively managing TED tracking for engagement and events.


• Collaborate with Engineering Career Services to implement and market the Grainger Mentoring Program.


• Serve as the staff advisor to the Engineering Student Alumni Ambassadors (ESAA) and coordinate efforts with Engineering Council and other appropriate organizations, serving as the key contact.


• Other duties as assigned.



Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree.

  • A total of four (4) years (48 months) of work experience in engagement and event planning.

  • Demonstrated experience initiating communication both internally and externally at various levels of an organization.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing new programs and initiatives

  • Event planning experience in a not-for-profit or university environment


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Organizational ability to manage workflows, develop production schedules and meet deadlines

  • Demonstrated ability to work in an environment that is fast-paced and projects that cover a wide-range of ever-evolving topics

  • Ability to operate in a collaborative environment

  • Knowledge of the University of Illinois


APPOINTMENT INFORMATION



This is a full-time Civil Service Program Coordinator position appointed on a 12-month service basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the closing date. The minimum salary is $60,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Work authorization is not available for this position.
