Description

Who We Are

IREX is a global development and education organization. We strive for a more just, prosperous, and inclusive world—where individuals reach their full potential, governments serve their people, and communities thrive. With a projected annual portfolio of more than $150 million and more than 750 staff worldwide, we work with partners in more than 100 countries in four areas essential to progress: cultivating leaders, empowering youth, strengthening institutions, and increasing access to quality education and information.

IREX’s Strategic Research, Evaluation, and Learning (SREAL) priorities across our global program portfolio and Youth Excel-specific program activities generate various kinds of data through its activities and implementing partners across the globe. The collection, management, and use of this data - led by the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Advisors and the program partners - to support decision-making, inform learning initiatives, and document the project results, is thus a crucial process that requires sufficient capacity and skills. One of these major Youth Excel activities, in Malawi, also includes sophisticated data analytics and requires regularly producing high-quality data visualizations.

The MEL Coordinator will work with the Youth Excel Global MEL Team, Youth Excel Malawi team members, and the IREX/ MEL team members, to support all MEL related activities. They will specifically engage in the collection, cleaning, management, analysis, and visualization of all data collected through regular monitoring processes.

The MEL Coordinator candidate will be responsible for supporting Youth Excel staff and partners to regularly collect, enter, verify, and analyze data, and make timely adjustments to data collection tools and processes, as necessary. This person will also closely coordinate with all Youth Excel staff and implementing partners to ensure that data is accurately collected and utilized for learning and reporting purposes.

The MEL Coordinator will also be responsible for supporting the rollout of ActivityInfo, IREX’s data management system, for its Strategic Evaluation and Learning initiative and for individual programs across the organization. They will also be responsible for creating dashboards and other data products to improve access and use of the information management system for different stakeholders.

We are doers. Our decades of on-the-ground experience help us create greater impact, practical recommendations, and lasting partnerships.
