The Department of Environmental Health Sciences at the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine (SPHTM) is seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher to join a multidisciplinary team investigating environmental risk factors for neurodevelopmental, cardiovascular, respiratory, and mental health-related health outcomes. Air pollution and climate change-related exposures are of particular interest to this group. The successful candidate will be supervised by Mostafijur Rahman, MS, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Environmental Health Sciences. The postdoctoral researcher will actively participate in scientific activities, encompassing all aspects of study design, analysis, manuscript preparation, mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, presenting study findings at conferences, and developing research proposals. Candidate will participate in career development activities and will be encouraged to apply for transitional career award, and/or mentored career development awards. Initial appointment will be made for a period of one year, with a possibility of extension for one additional year based on performance.

Qualifications:


Candidate must have earned a doctoral degree in a relevant field (epidemiology, environmental health sciences, biostatistics, and/or statistical modelling), and have demonstrated interest in environmental health, preferably with experience in air pollution or climate change research. Intermediate to advanced skills with at least one statistical and/or programming software is required (e.g., SAS, R, or Python). Experience in exposure modelling and GIS is beneficial but not required.
