Job Description Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated, dedicated, and enthusiastic individual who has lab experience and familiarity with immunology. This individual should be interested in human translational science. The research specialist will work closely with the Principal Investigator and other lab members on publication-generating projects to understand immune responses to COVID-19 vaccination. The research specialist will work with cutting-edge molecular techniques and immunology approaches to understand the formation of long-lived memory and how our bodies respond to repeat vaccinations. He/she should have laboratory experiences and background knowledge in immunology. Experiences in protein expression and purification would be helpful but not required. It is expected that the research specialist will develop a high level of independence and be able to take a lead on projects. The research specialist will work in a team-oriented environment, where creativity, enthusiasm, and dedicated effort are highly rewarded. Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with others as a team are required. Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills are necessary.

- Assist in the characterization of the T cell responses before and after vaccination. S/he will be involved with sample processing. S/he will work cooperatively with laboratory members and collaborate with other groups (both laboratory and clinical) on campus. S/he also will be responsible for data organization and annotation for long-term storage. Multi-tasking is important.
Research Specialist B- Assist in the characterization of the T cell responses before and after vaccination. S/he will be involved with sample processing. S/he will work cooperatively with laboratory members and collaborate with other groups (both laboratory and clinical) on campus. S/he also will be responsible for data organization and annotation for long-term storage, with the additional expectation that the candidates will develop novel solutions to research questions in addition to employing established methods. Multi-tasking is important.

Qualifications
Research Specialist A
Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Preferred: A basic understanding of immunology and laboratory experience.
Research Specialist B
Bachelor of Science and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Preferred: immunology and laboratory experience.
