The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment seeks to develop a pool of candidates for postdoctoral scholars (post-doc) positions in areas related to our central mission, particularly our research involving and at the interface of Water Resources Modeling, Aquatic Health Assessment, and Climate Change. A post-doc is a professional appointment designed to provide recent doctoral degree recipients with an opportunity to gain experiences and skills that will advance their careers. A post-doc works under the supervision and sponsorship of a regular faculty or research staff member, who serves as a mentor to the post-doc, and it is expected that the faculty/staff sponsor will provide an orientation and development plan for the post-doc, impart the realities and variety of careers available to the post-doc, and encourage learning opportunities to broaden the post-doc's aspirations and experiences.
The appointment involves substantial and full-time commitment to research, scholarship, and other professional activities. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental/school need. Recently awarded a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g., D.Sc.., M.D.).
Previous success in research scholarship as evaluated by metrics associated with publication history is preferred.
