Job Purpose
Production Operator 1 is primarily responsible for the production activities demanded by MacDermid business operations.
Job Responsibilities
Work with supervision from a Production 2 employee or above
Learn basic production procedures
Learn to read and understand work instructions and work in a team oriented environment and/or as an individual
Learn how to use RF scanners
Prepare packaging containers with product and warning labels
Learn how to properly clean blend tanks, nozzels, and buckets/drip pans
Work with production equipment including air pumps, scales and mixers
Begin learning chemical names and how to build blends
Become an active member of the emergency response team
Practice safe chemical handling methods
Operate forklifts in a safe manner
Maintain a clean work area
Other duties that are assigned by Management
Requirements & Qualifications
Preferred to have 1-year manufacturing/production experience
Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds
Must be able to multi-task
Dedication to workplace safety
Ability to work confidently from heights
HS Diploma or GED Equivalent
Must pass physical exam and drug test
Must have basic mathematical knowledge
Must be able to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Must pass Forklift Driver Certification exam in order to operate forklifts
Must be able to work overtime when required (including weekends) & flexible work schedules.
Competencies
Must complete the MacDermid General Employee Orientation
Must complete the MacDermid New Employee Job Safety Training and OSHA Right to Know training
Must obtain and complete certified training for Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER)
Must attend safety meetings
Must complete all annual compliance trainings
