Job Summary

Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Job Duties

Plans, implements, evaluates, and delivers patient care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

Maintains clinical skills and competency through orientation, annual and ongoing education, and clinical practice.

Follows Tribal Health and client specific policies and procedures.

All other duties as assigned and specified by clinical assignment and site.

Facility Description and Overview:

Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility and surrounding areas

• Specialty: Emergency Department
• Any state license accepted: Any State License
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
• Experience requirements: 3 years nursing experience, 1 year of experience in specialty
• COVID vaccine required: TBD
• Weekly schedule: Day = (0700-1930), Night = (1900-0730) - ML 2 = (3pm-0330) - ML 1 = (12 noon-0030)
  • 12.5 hours shifts / 1 hr lunch for day shift, 30 min lunch for night shift.
  • 7 shifts per 2-week period / rotating 36- & 48-hour weeks
  • Weekends, holidays, rotating day/night shift
• Patient volume per day: Nurse to patient ratio 1:3 (this will depend on the shift, sometimes 1:4, and if there are critical patients -> 1:1).
• Credentialing requirements: Facility forms, EQIP, FPs
• Support staff : There are 9 beds in the ER. -Resp. therapy, Radiology, CT, inpatient Pharmacy, Central supply. Day M-F -> OPD departments, outpatient Pharmacy, Gen. Svs.,Bio-med, Health promotion, PHN, Optometry, Nutrition, and Diabetes program.
