POSITION SUMMARY:
Ascendo Resources is seeking a Sr. Tax Accountant who is responsible for preparing federal, state, and local corporate tax returns and tax provisions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required
CPA and/or Masters in Tax is a plus
One tax season in public accounting preferred
Preparation of Federal 1120C, 1065 and state tax returns is required
Knowledgeable in Excel
Knowledgeable in OneSource or GoSystems tax preparation software and tax research software
Knowledgeable in Sage Fixed Assets is a plus
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare corporate federal, state and local tax returns.
Prepare extensions, estimated payments, withholding payments for corporations.
Responsible for assisting in the preparation of the year-end and quarterly tax provisions for corporations.
Examines accounts and records and computes taxes owed according to prescribed rates, laws, and regulations.
Assist with responses to notices from taxing authorities and field audits.
Completes forms for tax refunds.
Advises management regarding effects of business activities on taxes, and on strategies for minimizing tax liability.
Ensures that organization complies with information reporting and other taxing authority requirements.
Organizes and maintains tax records and conducts tax studies and special projects.
Provides tax advice to organization.
Perform tax research as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
