Wright Flood, a Brown & Brown Insurance subsidiary is seeking a Statutory Accounting Manager to join our growing team in Clearwater, FL!
The Statutory Accounting Manager will prepare and review selected items for Wright National Flood Insurance Services (WNFIS) and Wright National Flood Insurance Company (WNFIC). This individual prepares annual and quarterly statement pages and submit to NAIC, AMBest, and various states. The Statutory Accounting Manager also assists in financial audits, insurance department exams and actuarial requirements.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
1.) Review selected items prepared by the Cash Management Supervisor, Manager of Budgets & Financial Planning, Audit Compliance Administrator and Corporate Senior Staff Account:
Journal entries
Reconciliations
Unclaimed property templates
B&B Fixed Asset template
Support items for CSA's (WNFIC and WNFIS)
2.) Prepare the following monthly journal entries for WNFIS:
Record payroll PTO for non-exempt teammates
Record Accruals
Record Flood entry
Record Premium Tax Accrual
3.) Prepare the following account reconciliations:
Gross payroll expense quarterly and annually for WNFIS
Payroll accounts for WNFIS
4.) Participation in WNFIC annual and quarterly requirements including the following:
Prepare Schedule T, Part 1, 2 and 3 for Quarterly Statements
Prepare Part 1, 1A, 1B, Part 2, 2A, Part 3, State pages and Schedule T for Annual Statements
Prepare IEE
Review Schedule Y prepared by Audit Compliance Administrator in Visio and secure legal approval
5.) Participate and manage with items needed for year-end STAT and GAAP audits including the following:
Prepare PBC's for WNFIS and WNFIC as well as review teammate prepared schedules
Prepare supporting schedules for GAAP audit when requested and review SEC notes prepared by teammates
6.) Month-end Workbook for B&B each month:
Pull in Workday reports
Update accounts prepared by the team
7.) Prepare & Review month-end recaps for FNPAC & WNFIC for National Programs
8.) Process IBNR month-end journal entries
9.) Prepare monthly FEMA financial statements to be submitted by the 12th of every month
10.) Accomplish project(s) assigned by management and other miscellaneous tasks.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or a closely related discipline with a minimum of one to two years related experience.
3+ years experience in a similar role
Expert level proficiency in Microsoft suite; focus on Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Proven ability to effectively interact with senior management in a dynamic environment.
