The Accountant fulfills an integral transactional and reporting function in the Finance Department with a focus on customer service to both internal and external customers. Job responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Assist with all weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly closings
Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures complying with federal, state and local financial legal requirements and Nucor accounting policies
Accounts Receivable-generate daily invoices, apply appropriate sales tax and resolve issues as they relate to invoicing
Cash Management-apply customer payments timely, process daily deposits and reconcile bank statements
Customer Credit Functions, including collections and lien documentation
General Ledger-maintain select general ledger accounts reconciliations
Tax Reporting-process the remitting of monthly sales tax
Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing job responsibilities
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
4-year degree in Accounting
2-3yrs of experience in Accounting
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA or CMA
Prior experience with Sales Tax reporting and regulations
Working knowledge Microsoft Dynamics 365
