What's Cool About Coupeville:

Hugging the shore of picturesque Whidbey Island in Puget Sound, Coupeville is a quaint coastal community rich in local history, small-town charm and striking natural beauty. Stroll along the idyllic waterfront wooden pier and wharf at Penn Cove and visit the nearby Island County Museum-or spend an afternoon exploring the historic downtown. You'll find hundred-year-old buildings that now house restaurants (pro tip: order the locally raised mussels), galleries, wine-tasting rooms and boutiques. In the mood for biking, hiking, beachcombing, bird spotting or whale watching? Soak up the splendor of state and national parks like beautiful Ebey's Landing, Fort Casey and Fort Ebey and experience instant relaxation. And if you're ready to get creative during your off-work hours, try a painting or photography class at the Pacific Northwest Art School or a weaving lesson from the world-famous Weaver's School. Low crime rates, friendly neighbors and plenty of summer festivals make this second-oldest community in Washington state the perfect place to make a fresh start. Another bonus: Coupeville is located in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains, which means the town receives significantly less rainfall than the rest of western Washington.
