The USAF partnered with AT&T to consolidate multiple disparate expenditures and IT projects into a consolidated enterprise while still allowing its users to retain the ability to tailor services and service levels. AT&T is providing commercial IT services to the USAF to improve performance of IT services and allow re-missioning of military personnel to cyber warfighting missions.

The AT&T Network as a Service (NaaS) team has an opening for a Telecom Engineer to support the US Air Force by providing maintenance and repair services to intelligently scale network services, enable rapid deployment of emerging technologies, and provide industry-leading security, performance, and reliability. Our NaaS team is dedicated to improving the USAF IT experience through commercial services to increase mission effectiveness. It supports the AF Program Management Office, Air Combat Command, 16AF and subordinated units delivering high-availability and secure network capabilities.

The job duties are as follows:
  • Act as the single point of entry and exit for all client-related user incidents and service requests.
  • Provide products, services and client support to include the installation and maintenance, repair, and life-cycle management of Analog, Integrated Service Design Network (ISDN), Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and Data services.
  • Manage the delivery and maintenance of all products and services related to Landline, Cable TV, Teleworking services, mobile services.
  • Track, monitor and report status of all systems, key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Work with third party/external providers (Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and Internet service providers).
  • Evaluate client-based issues or requests and resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Support event management and outages.
  • Ensure thorough/timely understanding of current open tickets and follow up to ensure fulfillment of all incidents and service requests.
  • Provide monthly incident and trend analysis reports as required.


Required Clearance:

Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI (#ts/sci) (#secret)

Required Qualifications:
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • 3+ year of experience in Telecommunications and Networking
  • Knowledge of appropriate DoD policies and procedures relating to telecommunications and information assurance
  • Must have IT experience, Computer Science, or similar field of study


Desired Qualifications:
  • Previous experience with AT&T and the Air Force environment a plus
  • Clearable to TS/SCI security clearance
  • Current IAT Level 2


Our Telecom Engineer's earn between $90,000 -$130,000. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
