JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Chief Business Ops Officer, provides support and direction of complex personnel management processes for the Division of Student Affairs; representing 225+ staff and 700+ students. Develops strategies to improve full-time staff engagement and manage programs designed to foster a culture of belonging and well-being, to include but not limited to, division onboarding, recognition, learning and development, and other activities aimed at creating a positive work environment. Oversee the daily HR operations which requires close coordination with all division staff. Responsible for student hiring and Graduate Assistant program coordination for the division. Supervises personnel operations team and staff who ensures payroll is submitted accurately and timely utilizing the University's timekeeping system. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

40% - Essential - Manages HR related activities for Student Affairs by collaborating with central HR partners. Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of the University HR and time-keeping systems. Responsible for ensuring no missed punches and all leave is entered accurately for all departments within Student Affairs. Oversees and audits pay sheets each pay period; verifying pay lines for accuracy for all departments within Student Affairs. Runs reports for payroll and HR as requested. Supervises and directs all student, temporary, and intermittent hiring process for Student Affairs. Manages and coordinates the division Graduate Assistantship process to include gathering of required documentation from division departments, communication with the Graduate School, and entry of GAD information into the GS61 system. Maintains working knowledge of HR/Payroll laws, policy and procedures communicating changes to department heads as required. Acts as the student hiring lead for Residential Living/Residental Learning departments .

30% - Essential - Maintains FTE position tracking, supervises division-wide EPMS review completion, maintains lapsed salary tracking, initiates processing and drafting of internal agreements and MOUs for SA partnerships and collaborations, and oversees, implements, and updates the division on-boarding activities for all new hires; assignment of Student Affairs Online Orientation through Tiger Training, scheduling and execution of New Employee Welcome Gatherings, and implementation and management of the PrePAIRing Tigers program. Provides comprehensive training to all staff on an on-going basis; to include, but not limited to, new hire packets, students, Lunch and Learn series on HR related topics. Collaborates with HR partners to identify and create programs to develop employee skills and promote belonging and satisfaction. Liaises with CUHR, department heads, and division leadership to identify and assess development and succession planning needs. Coordinates and manages assigned projects.

15% - Essential - Directly supervises full-time staff. Plans, establishes, prioritizes, coordinates and directs all activity for the Personnel Operations and Engagement team. Enforces policies/procedures in accordance with State & University guidelines while providing a safe, healthy workplace. Provides personnel development through performance appraisals. Completes planning stages and evaluations in accordance with agency guidelines. Maintains current personnel records. Promotes, provides, and encourages staff professional development. Promotes intra/inter departmental cooperation.

10% - Essential - Represents the interests of assigned division and its employees. Provides constructive ideas and feedback to the Chief Business Operations Officer to help drive improved processes and supporting tools to maximize resource utilization and establish consistent practices to promote efficient, effective, quality and value-add activities. Provides meaningful feedback to assigned departmental employees and encourages employee growth and development. Facilitates successful resolution of issues. Identifies and implements creative solutions to address organizational needs by working collaboratively.

5% - Essential - Participates in departmental and divisional meetings and events. Serves on special project teams and provides role-related training as requested by the Chief Business Operations Officer to enhance the experience and knowledge growth of staff. Cross trains in related job tasks within SABO.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education - Bachelor's Degree and relevant experience in administrative services, public administration or business management.
Work Exp 5+ years

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Education - Master's Degree - Human Resource Development
Work Exp 10+ years
