Accounting Supervisor

Pay Rate: The starting base pay for this role is USD $92,000.00 per year. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Location: Works from home or company office. Requires one day/week in Irvine, CA office work for Accounts Payable processes.

Summary:
Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc. is seeking a results-oriented individual, with the desire for the next step in their Accounting/Finance career, to join our growing team. The successful candidates will possess a professional and take-charge style with the motivation to meet and exceed expectations.
Responsible for ensuring that all corporate and subsidiary accounting functions are properly performed, and results are properly recorded. Specific duties include maintaining and improving the financial processes of company’s ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics GP (migrating to SAP s4Hana), corporate and subsidiary accounting close, financial statement account analyses, adherence to maintain and/or improve existing internal controls over financial reporting, ad hoc financial analysis, and special projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions of the position include, but are not limited to;
· Prepares and manages the month, quarter, year-end close process within the company’s month, quarter, year-end reporting timeline for corporate and its subsidiaries.
· Assists in the preparation and analyses of the consolidation reporting package to Japanese parent.
· Ensures accounting records are recorded in accordance with IFRS.
· Reconciles financial accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
· Ensures compliance with company finance policies and internal controls under J-SOX.
· Maintains and develops accounting practices to address any new regulatory changes that impact the company and its subsidiaries’ financial statements.
· Reviews the work of direct reports in connection with the month/quarter/year end close process to ensure such entries recorded are reasonable and consistent with IFRS.
· Oversees Accounts Payable processes and ensures timely processing of payments to vendors, contractors, etc.
· Oversees Accounts Receivable processes and ensures timely processing of invoices, bank deposits and vendor setup.
· Conducts in-depth research and analysis of historical financial data to provide actionable insights to the executive team and stakeholders.
· Compares anticipated financial results with actual outcomes, offering recommendations for enhancement of financial performance.
· Preparation of periodic budgets and forecasts (Weekly/Quarterly/Annually).
· Monitors and manages cash flow, optimizing liquidity to meet financial obligations.
· Contributes to the management of banking relationships.
· Prepares and analyzes cash flow forecasts in order to support the company’s working capital needs.
· Collaborates with external and internal auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
· Collaborates with the Tax Department to support ad hoc requests and ensure regulatory compliance.
· Updates company travel policy regularly and maintains expense reporting system.
· Regular work site attendance.
· Customarily and regularly exercises independent discretion and judgement.
Manager/Supervisor Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages 2-3 subordinate employees in the accounting department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
· Works with Human Resources to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ an appropriate number of employees.
· Performance management duties:
o Coaches, mentors and develops staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assists with resolution of finance related systems issues (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics GP and Sage 50) and implementation projects for corporate and its subsidiaries.
· Assists with migration of Microsoft Dynamics GP ERP system to SAP s4Hana.
· Assists in the management of the company’s periodic audits from its external auditors.
· Assists in the analysis and improvement of existing accounting system and processes.
· Performs ad hoc analysis and projects as assigned.
· Assists in making key business decisions by providing special analysis.
· Preparation and review of business strategy plans and forecasts for new business ventures and provide recommendations based on internal research.
· Adheres to company policies, ISO requirements, safety and quality.
· Supports continual improvement efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BS/BBA) in Accounting or Finance from four-year college or university; and 5+ years of related experience and/or training.
CPA designation preferred.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Demonstrate ability to effectively use computer and applicable computer software. Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, Adobe, PowerPoint, and Outlook required. Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics GP and/or SAP s4 Hana) a plus.
