Director, Global AML and Financial Services Compliance Consumer Protection and Anti-Fraud



Join Walmart's Global AML and Financial Services Compliance ("FSC") Consumer Protection and Anti-Fraud team as an experienced Consumer Financial Protection ("CFP") subject matter expert. As a key team member, you will provide guidance and have primary responsibility for all aspects of CFP compliance across Walmart's suite of financial products and services. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned CFP professional to shape and lead CFP compliance for the world's largest retailer as it continues to expand its financial services offerings around the globe. What you'll do....



  • Serve as subject matter expert ("SME") for consumer financial protection regulatory compliance across Walmart's suite of financial products and services (i.e., money transfers, lending, prepaid access, credit cards, etc.)

  • Proactively identify consumer financial protection risks across the enterprise and escalate to leadership when appropriate

  • Guide the design, development, and enhancement of processes and controls to effectively manage and mitigate compliance risks related to consumer financial protection

  • Advise on consumer financial protection risks and obligations associated with new products, services, and initiatives

  • Partnering with other areas of the business, internal team members, and senior management to strategically advance program objectives

  • Perform gap analyses, identifying root causes for gaps, and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to mitigate risks and close gaps

  • Perform regulatory research and analysis in response to compliance inquiries as well as supporting the business on compliance with new and amended laws and regulations

  • Provide advisory support with regulatory examinations, and/or compliance audits or reviews




What you'll bring....



  • Financial services compliance subject matter expert with extensive years of compliance experience with Consumer Financial Protection regulations including Dodd-Frank and related laws such as the ECOA/Reg B, EFTA/Reg E, FCRA/Reg V, and TILA/Reg Z within large/medium sized financial institutions, non-bank financial institutions and/or within a state or federal consumer financial protection regulatory agency

  • Extensive experience working with a broad array of global financial products & services including prepaid access and lending products

  • Self-motivated, customer-centric, and strategic-minded compliance professional accustomed to working with cross-functional stakeholders in fast-paced environments

  • Familiar with the essential elements of a corporate compliance program and are obsessed with continuous program improvement

  • Substantial experience supporting the operationalization of compliance controls

  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with and influence stakeholders

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams within a matrix environment

  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (ACAMS) - preferred

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 5 years' experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 7 years' experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area. 3 years' supervisory experience. 4 years' experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.
