Position: Senior Data Analyst
Job Location: 221 River Street, Hoboken, NJ 07030
Duties: Identify and prioritize business data requirements by understanding functional business domain and scenarios. Understand different categories of data and their locations (e.g. distributed data stores and database technologies such as SQL and NoSQL). Apply appropriate data ecosystem principles such as data management, quality standards, and governance to routine business problems that involve a single function. Apply methods and applications that unlock the monetary value of data assets. Identify appropriate methods/tools to provide solutions for the problem by using big data analytics and automation techniques and methods and give examples to demonstrate how the method would solve the business problem using Python and Google BigQuery. Understand customer requirements to design appropriate data representation for multiple data sets. Work with User Experience designers and User Interface engineers to build front-end applications. Present the team and business audience with findings using appropriate data visualization frameworks and convey clear messages using Tableau or Power BI. Test and validate data quality requirements and deliver against data quality service level agreements. Follow operational data quality management procedures, address data quality issues, and guide data cleansing activities to remove data quality defects, improve data quality, and eliminate unused data. Build score cards to monitor data quality rules. Support the identification and application of statistical techniques based on requirements. Use Data Discovery tools to write queries and analyze data to identify patterns, trends, outliers, and correlations. Conduct statistical analysis (hypothesis tests and confidence intervals) and build basic statistical models using relevant packages and software suites such as Python. Leverage Collibra tool to help Walmart centralize all data assets.
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Business, Engineering (any), Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Finance, Information Systems, or related field; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Engineering (any), Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Finance, Information Systems, or related field and 2 years of experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
Skills required: Experience developing self-service dashboards and reports in Power BI and Tableau to drive analytical solutions. Experience performing structured and non-structured data analysis using SQL, Oracle Cloud Service, and Big Query. Experience conducting exploratory data analysis and statistical analysis using Python. Experience strategizing data scalability and accuracy using ETL and Engineering methodologies. Experience designing data models and data warehouses in Azure SQL and database platforms. Experience building and managing reports using Tableau Prep. Experience providing data driven insights and delivering recommendations that address opportunities for product improvements. Experience performing data testing and validation and providing sign-off. Experience partnering with product managers and engineering teams to accurately track and analyze existing and new product initiatives. Experience gathering requirements from product teams and creating analytics roadmaps. Experience designing and developing ETL workflows and datasets in Alteryx.
