Position: Senior Software Engineer



Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086



Duties: Builds and maintains backend software services that can handle thousands of requests per day to support privacy compliance on Walmart.com and its subsidiaries. Uses distributed computing frameworks to build large scale ETL pipelines including Apache Spark and Google dataproc. Utilizes Spring Boot and Plays framework in Java or Scala to design and implement low-latency REST APIs with Azure SQL Server as storage system. Works with modern web-based architectures, including REST APIs, Serverless, and event-driven microservices. Creates and deploys large-scale, containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes in public clouds such as Google GCP and Microsoft Azure. Collaborates with other scrum teams, QA, Product, Program Management, and Partner-Ops, while partnering with cross-functional project development teams. Participates in 24/7 on-call rotations to troubleshoot production issues across cross-functional teams.



Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 2 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 5 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment.



Skills required: Experience with cloud computing services including Google cloud Platform (GCP) and Azure Cloud. Experience building Scalable pipelines using Azure Kubernetes Services and Docker. Experience designing and implementing with dashboarding tools including Kibana with Elastic Search, Grafana and Tableau. Experience designing and implementing Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) automations using Jenkins and Azure Devops. Experience implementing optimized querying and workflows using HIVE. Experience with Relational and NoSQL database including Microsoft SQL server, PostgreSQL, and Apache Cassandra. Experience designing and implementing complex workflow management for data pipelines using Apache Spark and Google dataproc. Experience developing and implementing micro services using Java Spring boot and hibernate. Experience with messaging system tools including Kafka and RabbitMQ. Experience designing and implementing REST API web services using Java and Swagger tool. Experience coding in an object-oriented programming language including Java, Python and Scala. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.




Salary Range: $182,073/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
