Position: Principal Software Engineer



Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086



Duties: Responsible for the reliability, scalability, automation, and other issues related to uptime and availability of Walmart's e-commerce/Retail and Enterprise platform. Works as solution architect and lead developer of Certengine, Speedbar and Chaosmart. Uses Certengine - A monitoring tool that helps flag SSL certificate expiration with ease and alerts teams. Uses Speedbar - A tool that helps identify the application layer that adds to the application latency. Uses Chaosmart - Chaos injection tool that follows the principles of chaos engineering and chaos experimental models to help enterprises improve the fault tolerance of distributed systems and ensure business continuity during the process of enterprises going to cloud or moving to cloud-native systems. Responsible for performing code reviews and architecture reviews of all the products that team proposes and works on. Supports Walmart teams in preparing and designing resiliency tests to make sure the application developed are reliable and scalable and available.



Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years of experience in software engineering or related area OR Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years of experience in software engineering or related area.



Skills required: Experience designing and implementing REST API. Experience with Automation Tools. Experience with Performance Testing to test application performance. Experience with Observability and using monitoring and alerting applications. Experience with Chaos Engineering including Failure Injection, Verify, Validate and Certify Application Resiliency. Experience coding, testing and automating using Groovy and Python Scripting. Experience with design and implementation of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery. Experience with Performance Engineering to optimize or provide ways in which application should work seamlessly. Experience with Application Testing and troubleshooting including performing Root cause analysis of production issues. Experience designing and implementing Database for Rest API. Experience with Failure recovery Automation and Designing workflow. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.




Salary Range: $283,442/year to $286,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
