Position: Staff Data Scientist



Job Location: 680 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086



Duties: Process large scale Wal-Mart datasets using distributed cloud computing technologies to create and maintain 3D assets for the Wal-Mart catalog. Use computer vision techniques to create advanced deep learning models for 2D/3D image generation and synthesis, image classification, scene segmentation, object detection, and Keypoint detection. Build and maintain ML/DL model pipelines and services with a focus on latency, throughput, and scalability. Monitor end to end ownership and collaboration with product, engineering, vendors, and annotation partners to drive production ML application integrations and maintenance. Collaborate with internal Wal-Mart Data Science teams to enable high quality user experiences powered by AI/ML around computer vision. Read and implement research papers to strive for improvements in all aspects of the Computer Vision ML pipeline including better data generation techniques, more performant algorithms, and highly efficient model deployments. Utilize generative AI and large language models for natural language and multi-modal learning.



Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any), or related field and 2 years of experience in an analytics related field; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any), or related field and 4 years of experience in an analytics related field.



Skills required: Experience with software development in Python. Experience with coding language C++. Experience with Computer Vision techniques and Algorithm development using OpenCV or PIL. Experience with Natural Language Understanding. Experience with Machine Learning and Deep Learning training using Sklearn, Pytorch, Tensorflow, and Keras. Experience with 3D data. Experience training and deploying models on distributed cloud computing technologies including Azure, GCP, and AWS. Experience with Unix CLI, Bash, Docker, Git, and Git Management. Experience with mathematics, linear algebra, and statistics. Experience with SQL, Big Data, and Data Visualization. Experience with 3D modeling using Solidworks, Blender, and Maya. Experience optimizing model inference and vectorization using Pytorch, Nvidia TensorRT, or ONNX. Experience with large scale data processing using Numpy and Pandas. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.




Salary Range: $168,154/year to $286,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
