JOB DESCRIPTION



Construction EHS Specialist is based in Chicago and will provide administrative, programmatic, and procedural EHS support to the Invenergy Construction EHS team members and construction projects, to include document control, training systems/program, contractor prequalification tracking, incident tracking and analysis, safety consultant recruiting, and EHS regulatory research.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Have basic knowledge of construction EHS practices and processes

  • Be responsible for document control for construction EHS documents

  • Assist Director Construction EHS in developing content for applicable training;

  • Provide safety training for project management teams;

  • Coordinate the development of online construction EHS training programs

  • Stay current and up to date with construction safety regulations, industry developments or trends that would affect the construction EHS

  • Work closely with Construction EHS team to develop new programs and delivery methods around safety continuous improvement

  • Assist with managing needs from third party vendors in EHS. (e.g., Gearcor, ISN, insurance)

  • Interact cross-functionally with a wide variety of people and teams; and

  • Conduct other related duties as assigned




REQUIREMENTS



  • Bachelor's degree in EHS or similar discipline

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in construction EHS

  • CHST designation preferred

  • Preferable experience working in renewable energy industry

  • Ability to Travel up to 25% of the time domestically

  • Superior written and verbal communication

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint

  • Experience developing and presenting training programs

  • Ability to adapt to challenging work environment in a constantly changing industry

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

  • Excellent in problem solving, organization, interpersonal, and motivational skills

  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
