Description:
Our client is currently looking for a Controls/Automation Engineer for a Manufacturing company located in Columbia, SC.

What you'll do

• Dive deep into detailed electrical design and automation programming for assigned projects.


• Control, program and troubleshoot equipment using your Controls engineer experience


• Estimate and schedule all phases of process equipment additions, replacements, or upgrades.


• Become a champion for our plant maintenance teams - provide backup support and training on new automation systems.


• Collaborate with internal support groups to achieve our goals and lead contract engineering projects when needed.


• Be an integral part of major capital projects, from equipment arrival to commissioning and acceptance.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-mechanical Engineering, or Associates Degree


• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Controls/Automation


• Familiarity with electrical design standards and design tools like standard CAD.


• Experience with PLC programming languages (Ladder Logic, GRAFCET, Structured Text) and software (Rockwell, Siemens preferred).


• Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives and Motion Control technologies (Rockwell, Siemens, Control Techniques a plus).


• Experience configuring and programming HMIs (Rockwell a plus).


• Prior experience in project leadership or management is a benefit.


• Experience with vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, Adept, etc.) and robotics (Fanuc, ABB) is a plus, but not required.
