Job Description:


We are seeking an experienced AS400 Engineer to join our team. As an AS400 Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing our AS400 systems. Your responsibilities will include building LPARs from scratch, ensuring software replication, and installing applications like MIMIX. You'll collaborate closely with other IT professionals to ensure the smooth operation of our AS400 environment.


Responsibilities:

• 
  LPAR Configuration: Build and configure LPARs on AS400 systems, ensuring optimal performance and resource allocation.


• 
  Software Replication: Implement and manage software replication solutions to ensure data integrity and high availability.


• 
  Application Installation: Install, configure, and troubleshoot applications such as MIMIX on AS400 servers.


• 
  Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize AS400 resources.


• 
  Security: Implement security best practices for AS400 systems, including user access controls and data encryption.


• 
  Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation related to AS400 configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.


• 
  Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, network engineers, and database administrators.

Qualifications:

• 
  AS400 Experience: Hands-on experience working with AS400 systems.


• 
  LPAR Building: Proficiency in creating LPARs from scratch, including resource allocation and configuration.


• 
  Software Replication: Familiarity with software replication tools and techniques.


• 
  Application Installation: Experience installing and configuring applications on AS400 servers.


• 
  Problem-solving skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve AS400-related issues efficiently.


• 
  Team Player: Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.


• 
  Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., IBM Certified Specialist - AS400) are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 
  AS400 Administration: Experience in AS400 administration, including system upgrades and patch management.


• 
  Backup and Recovery: Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies for AS400 systems.


• 
  Scripting: Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., CL, RPG) for AS400 automation.


• 
  Continuous Learning: Willingness to stay updated on AS400 technologies and best practices.

Additional Information:

  Interview Focus: Candidates should be able to discuss operational aspects related to AS400 systems, including building LPARs, software replication, and application installation. Those with an AS400 background will be preferred.
