CLINICAL TRANSLAT SCI (CTSI) (IN-DMCT-IUINA)



Job Summary



The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the direction, development, growth, and implementation of the Indiana CTSI Community Health Partnerships (CHeP) program, including its patient engagement core, Research Jam. The purpose of CHeP is to provide infrastructure and support for collaboration between the academy and community/patient stakeholders in order to leverage resources, enrich evaluations, communicate research findings, and engage Indiana residents in research and their health.


Department-Specific Responsibilities


  • Leads the direction of all program initiatives through a unified lens, including the patient engagement core (Research Jam), the pilot grant programs (Trailblazer Award/Planning Grant), the networking/matching services (CHeP Network), the coalition initiative (Connections IN Health), the online engagement platform (All IN for Health), the state-university partnership (WISE Indiana), the Indiana CTSI wide collaborations (CTSI communications, recruitment, global health & workforce development) and academic and community capacity building activities and programs.

  • Coordinates and reports up to Indiana CTSI leadership teams on all of the community engagement activities of the Indiana CTSI.

  • Provides leadership and strategic planning for the community engagement activities of the Indiana CTSI outside of Community Health Partnerships.

  • Establishes new initiatives, special projects and opportunities as the program grows.

  • Assists with grant writing.

  • Manages budgets.

  • Reports on program status and provides quality improvement strategies when needed.

  • Provides professional development support for other staff members on the Community Health Partnerships team.

  • Assists in the direction of the patient engagement core by defining cost per service rates, managing budgets and timelines, providing leadership in project management and implementation, ensuring positive client relationships, and improving team efficiencies on a systems level.

  • Collaborates with academic and community stakeholders to develop and maintain a robust network, centered on academic-community partnership to address health issues of Indiana residents.

  • Contributes to the overall mission of the Indiana CTSI.

  • Manages several direct reports.

General Responsibilities


  • Provides day-to-day operational management of support staff.

  • Establishes short-term operational objectives.

  • Identifies operational issues and/or areas of improvement and implements solutions to improve processes and/or operational efficiency.

  • Analyzes, monitors, and evaluates performance of assigned staff; establishes work priorities, conducts performance reviews, and provides corrective action as needed.

  • Ensures adequate staffing and effective scheduling; participates and informs employment decisions for assigned staff.

  • Provides direct supervision and oversight of assigned staff and activities; impacts, and is held accountable for, the performance of team and/or assigned staff.

  • Ensures and provides training to assigned staff to improve user support operations; researches and identifies development opportunities for assigned staff.

  • Keeps next-level leader(s) informed of trends as well as significant problems.

EDUCATION



Required



  • Bachelor's degree preferably in in public health or other health-related field.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 2 years of program management or related experience.

Working Conditions / Demands



This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
