Provide expert guidance and accounting/finance support. Provide full life cycle managed accounting support by leveraging accounting technical expertise to analyze financial data, identify opportunities for process improvement and implement technical solutions.


Essential Functions:

  • Provide comprehensive accounting support, including month-end close processes, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Prepare account reconciliations for month-end close.
  • Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, credit cards LOC, etc.; proactively resolve reconciliation variances in a timely manner.
  • Process and reconcile payroll through third-party payroll providers as needed.
  • Assist month-end close for multiple entities.
  • Maintain accuracy of all workpapers and month close packs.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and DCAA regulations.
  • Proactively communicate with team members, clients, and leadership
  • Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
  • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
  • Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.

Work Environment:

Office environment will include sitting at a desk and operating office equipment including a laptop/computer, printer, and scanner, answering and speaking by telephone/Teams. This is a fully remote position.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a fulltime position which may require some weeks working over-time during training and special projects. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday typically between 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Requirements:

Required Education and Experience/Qualifications:

Minimum of 7+ years of government contracting experience for multiple types of contracts.

• 7+ years of experience in accounting, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting.

• Experience with various contract types (FFP, T&M, CPFF, CPAF, etc.)

• Must have working knowledge of FASB and GAAP.

• Knowledge of CAS, FAR, DCAA compliance.

• Preferred experience working with Unanet or similar ERP system.

• Highest attention to detail.

• Initiative, resourcefulness, and ability to manage multiple assignments and deliverables.


Technical Skills:

PC Proficiency, specifically Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel. Experience using Unanet and Paylocity highly preferred.
