Responsible for the integration of computers and networks, feasibility studies, project analysis and management to assist in the completion of initiatives at the College of Medicine. Assists in the development of project plans and proposals that include budget needs.
Designs and leverages automated solutions, that apply the effective use of progressive technology, to continually improve and streamline operations.
Participates in the creation of business and technical policies and procedures. Develops, edits, and reviews documentation relating to information technology policies and procedures and insures conformance with established standards.
Manages advanced systems that include cloud, server, application and client software/hardware computing. Manages complex TCP/IP network devices that include wireless APs, switches, routers and security appliances.
Responsible for monitoring and maintaining optimal systems operations and coordinating efforts to pursue resolution of problems associated with computer operating systems, complex networks and software used at the college.
Responsible for the design and implementation of procedures and controls which help maintain the security of customer data. Works with tools, systems, and internal and external teams in discovering network security breaches and the illegal use of network resources.
Responsible for the coverage of network issues and repairs that may occur after normal business hours, including on holidays and weekends, on a rotational basis, as directed by IT Management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or other appropriate degree and two years of experience; or a combination of appropriate post high school education and experience equal to six years. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at an equivalent rate.)
Experience in demonstrating effective customer service skills.
Experience in communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
Experience in conveying technical information to technical and non-technical users.
Experience in implementing policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
Experience in documenting existing and new processes.
Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Experience in prioritizing, organizing, and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Experience in utilizing problem solving skills.
Experience in utilizing technical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations.
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions.
Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the network and data field.
Knowledge of standard programming languages, concepts, practices, and procedures within the technology field.
