Slalom's Intern experience offers students the opportunity to explore a career in consulting. Our 6-week program provides interns the chance to gain hands-on experience working as part of a client-facing project team. The learning experience continues through a combination of classroom-based training, self-guided learnings, and the ability to network with our market leadership team. Students are also encouraged to participate in company events, community groups, and other internal initiatives during their summer with us.

We help shape their business strategies by providing expert guidance in all things data and technology. As an intern with, you will deliver descriptive, predictive, and analytical insights for our diverse group of clients that span the market's leading industries. Our goal is to expose you to our exciting work within a range of analytics and technology enablement capabilities in the larger Data & Technology group at Slalom. In turn, our hope is that you will take the opportunity to explore, engage, ask questions, and make this experience your own.
What you'll do:
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to analyze, design, & deliver innovative solutions for a wide variety of business topics and industries
Work closely with both technology and business clients, to best align business needs with technical capability/ feasibility
Build solutions leveraging modern data wrangling, analysis, and visualization tools, such as Tableau, Python, R, Alteryx, PowerBI, SageMaker, among others, as well as assist in coming up with solutions through Machine Learning, to thrust clients into the future with innovation.
Conduct and participate in client white-boarding sessions, workshops, design sessions, and project meetings as needed, playing a key role in client relations
Produce documentation to aid both business and technical users related to the solutions produced.
Act as an internal "think tank" to identify new technologies and methods that Slalom can use to add continuous value to clients.

What you'll bring:
Bachelor's degree, certifications, or relevant courses in Information Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or any other science/technical area of study
Previous consultant experience preferred
Familiarity with data analysis and data manipulation in Excel
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to deliver your message to varied audiences (e.g. client stakeholders, delivery teams, etc.)
Well-rounded analytical and logical problem-solving approach Curious mindset and aptitude for learning new technologies and analytics techniques
Experience with SQL or other programming languages
software engineering skills and experience with programming languages
Experience with at least one modern data wrangling, analysis, or visualization tool is a plus (e.g., Tableau, Python, R, Alteryx, Sage Maker, Einstein, Power BI, Qlik, Looker, etc.)
Experience with big data and/or cloud data warehousing is a plus (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Redshift, Snowflake, Azure SQL DW, Big Query)
Desire and flexibility to explore new areas and skills, across both technical and business capabilities
Strong analytical and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to deal with ambiguity and work independently or with a team.
Proven ability to exercise high degree of confidentiality and objectivity
Advanced skills and experience in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
