Position Summary

Within the Supervision & Regulation Division, the Fair Lending Examination team has a position available for a highly motivated professional always seeking ways to be more efficient and effective, while promoting a positive attitude and work environment. You will assist/participate/lead in fair lending examinations to assess compliance with the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) and Fair Housing Act (FHA), evaluating supervised institutions for risks in specialty areas including, but not limited to underwriting, pricing, redlining, Unfair or Deceptive Acts or Practices (UDAP), and consumer complaints.

Applicants may be considered at Associate, Examiner or Sr. Examiner level based on experience and commissioned status.

We are a hybrid work environment.

Locations: Atlanta, Jacksonville, Miami, Birmingham

Key responsibilities


  • Assist in or perform examinations and inspections of financial institutions, ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and produce a comprehensive report of findings.


  • Conduct risk assessments and perform ongoing surveillance for a portfolio of institutions.


  • Demonstrate balanced, well-reasoned judgement in decision making and is able to effectively communicate with senior management and directors of supervised institutions under potentially adversarial circumstances.


  • Perform or assist in reviewing and editing work prepared by others for content, clarity and accuracy.


  • Provide comments on regulatory proposals, develop procedures for use by field staff, review key financial reports and information from financial institutions and written communication to financial institutions.


  • May provide guidance, training, and feedback to less experienced examiners. May serve as an instructor at formal schools and through on-the-job training.


  • Serve in Examiner in Charge (EIC) role (possibly with focus on specialty function), which involves planning, coordinating, and monitoring supervisory activities.


  • Maintain knowledge of current regulations and industry issues through communications and industry literature.


Qualifications:


  • · Bank Examination


  • · Examiner commissioning strongly preferred


  • · Specialty Expertise or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)


Experience:


  • Associate: Less than two years


  • Examiner: Two or more years


  • Sr. Examiner: 5 or more years commissioned experience


Education:

Bachelor's Degree or 4 years equivalent experience (Bachelor's Degree preferred)
