Position Summary:

Provides outreach and/or lay health education to members of the project target community.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive searches in relevant databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar to identify articles related to traffic crash risk factors and mass media campaigns.
  • Screen titles and abstracts against inclusion criteria to determine their relevance to the systematic reviews.
  • Download and organize full-text articles approved for review.
  • Use standardized data extraction forms to collect important information from each article, including study design, population, intervention details, outcomes, and key findings.
  • Evaluate the quality of selected studies using appropriate assessment tools.
  • Manage and organize references using reference management software.
  • Participate in regular project meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and strategies for effective completion of the reviews.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Certification/Skills:

    Bilingual - English and Spanish preferred but not required.

    Minimum Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; but not required.

    Minimum Experience:

    None.

    Physical Requirements:

    Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

    Security Sensitive:

    This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215

    Residency Requirement:

    Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
