Basic Job Functions:



This position will be responsible for assuring that all production equipment is maintained.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Troubleshooting systems, processes and/or equipment


• Reading, working with, and modifying mechanical prints


• Working with industrial mechanics and/or welding including: gear boxes, alignments, hydraulic and pneumatic logic, pump repair and process knowledge


• Adhering to safe mechanical and rigging processes


• Using computerized maintenance management program/system to complete work orders, find and order parts, and to schedule maintenance work for their shift.

We are looking for candidates willing to work rotating shifts, including days and nights. Most maintenance positions in our steel plant require moderate to heavy lifting and can be physically demanding including working in extreme temperatures and at elevated heights

Minimum Qualifications:



Candidates must have high school diploma or equivalent and experience in industrial mechanical maintenance.




Preferred Qualifications:



Experience is preferred in the following: print reading; mechanical power transmission components (couplings, bearings, gearing); welding, fitting, general fabrication; lubrication; industrial hydraulic systems; gear boxes; alignments; and split case pump maintenance and operations.


At Nucor Steel Gallatin LLC, the pay range (hourly base rate plus average production bonus) for Mechanical Maintenance teammates last year averaged $90,000 for entry level to $120,000 depending upon qualifications obtained in the first year, plus benefits.
