Accounting Specialist/Generalist

We are a small manufacturing and distribution company located in the vibrant city of Sarasota. With over 50 years of experience in the industry, we have established ourselves as a leader in our field. Due to our continuous growth, we are excited to create a new position within our team.

We are seeking a versatile Accounting Specialist/Generalist who is ready to wear multiple hats in our dynamic work environment. The ideal candidate will have a background in accounting at a managerial level and possess experience in manufacturing and distribution operations. Additionally, expertise in purchasing would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Handle general ledger entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
• Provide leadership and guidance to a small team of 2-5 individuals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize purchasing processes and vendor relationships.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably at a managerial level.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing and distribution operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office suite.
• Prior experience in purchasing is a plus.
