Frontier Energy is expanding its Zero Emission Transportation team and is looking to hire a project manager/fleet analyst. The successful candidate will manage projects with government and private fleet operators to create a 10+ year plan for the transition to zero emission battery- and fuel cell-electric vehicles. Our clients operate medium- and heavy-duty vehicles and need realistic and thoughtful help to plan for and implement infrastructure, ZEVs, policies, and processes.
This is a hybrid position that can work close to either our Sacramento, CA or Austin, TX office.
The Fleet Electrification Project Manager will help our municipal, institutional, and private fleet clients create actionable plans for deploying zero-emission vehicles and infrastructure. The big picture tasks for this position are:
Manage several simultaneous projects and project teams that include Frontier staff, clients, and subcontractors (partners).
Collaborate with clients to understand their specific goals and objectives for transition to zero emission vehicles, and to understand their unique operational requirements.
Validate and troubleshoot raw data and then conducting a thoughtful analysis of the data to develop phased transition plans to zero emission vehicles.
Identify and recommend funding, regulations, policies, and business models that are necessary for project success.
Using Frontier's existing modeling tools and identifying opportunities to improve them.
The ideal candidate for this role has proven experience in fleet conversion exercises, including surveying existing fleets, identifying priority vehicles for conversion based on customer identified requirements, and summarizing the results of the conversion in a planning document suitable for presentation. Experience in working with government or private fleet operators, knowledge about funding and regulations for zero emission vehicles, knowledge of fleets' operational requirements, and familiarity with medium- and heavy-duty ZEVs is desired.
Qualifications:
Four years' experience working with utilities, local government, or fleet transportation programs
Knowledge of the availability of zero emission vehicles, infrastructure, and funding programs for fleets and commercial operators
Experience with setting up and managing project tasks, resources, and deadlines using Smartsheet, Asana, or similar project management software
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to take and give constructive criticism
Strong data analysis and qualitative skills
Required to work as part of a team that includes frontier staff, partners, and clients
"Customer service" ethic to serve our clients and program partners
Required experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams on a Windows platform
Highly Desirable Skills/Experience:
Experience with technology feasibility assessment, vehicle fleet electrification studies, electric vehicle charging siting analysis
Experience with energy systems, electrical infrastructure and on-site power
Experience with medium and heavy-duty vehicles and off-road equipment
Experience working with issues of access and equity
