JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Software Engineer on the Backend team, you will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of their various APIs, integrations, and other backend services. You will work closely with other Engineering teams and Product Managers to deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with 2-3 years of development experience who is looking to learn from the wealth of experience they already have in place on the team, while also having a significant role in delivering code within a startup environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with other members of the Backend team to design and implement scalable solutions to fit product goals
Develop, test, and maintain high-quality code that is capable of evolving as the organization grows
Collaborate with other Engineering teams and Product Managers to design the next generation of our software
Contribute to existing Backend services and integrations, while helping to implement new solutions when required
Assist in the diagnosis and troubleshooting of production issues, and help to expand monitoring and response capabilities as needed
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process
SKILLS & ABILITIES
2-3 years of professional development experience
Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript
Experience with Node.js
Familiarity with NoSQL (e.g. MongoDB) and SQL (e.g. PostgreSQL) databases
Understanding of RESTful API design principles
Knowledge of version control systems, such as Git
NICE TO HAVES
Experience with cloud computing, especially AWS
Knowledge of containerization tools, specifically Docker
Familiarity with serverless architectures, bonus if within Serverless Framework
