Staff Accountant/Bookkeeper

Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing support to the finance department.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including processing invoices, recording payments, and reconciling vendor statements.
  • Manage the company's payroll process, including processing payroll, calculating taxes, and ensuring compliance with payroll regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Monitor and analyze budget variances and provide recommendations for cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate coding and recording of expenses.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis reports.
  • Provide support to the finance team during internal and external audits.
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and best practices.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles, preferably in a marketing or advertising agency.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
