We are seeking a Tax Partner who possesses strategic vision and a commitment to client service to join our team in Des Moines, IA. As a senior leader within the firm, the Tax Partner will play a pivotal role in determining and formulating policies related to tax services, client engagement, and overall firm operations. Our ideal candidate will plan and oversee operational activities while working collaboratively with executives, managers, and staff to achieve organizational goals.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Regular duties include:
Generating new business annually from prospective and existing clients; participating in client-related planning when needed
Directing and overseeing tax engagement activity and ensuring that quality control procedures are executed on each engagement
Developing, supervising, coaching, and mentoring team members; participating in staffing decisions
Collaborating with members of the executive and management teams to discuss issues, coordinate activities, and resolve problems
Keeping current with industry news and pronouncements from professional and regulatory groups and sharing updates with the team to contribute to staff development
Reviewing reports submitted by staff members to recommend approval or suggest changes
Preparing budgets, including those for the funding and implementation of firm programs
Soliciting internal experts from across the firm to assist in marketing and selling UHY services to existing clients
Participating in community, social, business, and professional organizations to generate referral sources
Promoting the ideals, values, mission, and vision of the firm

Education
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
Advanced degree in accounting or tax is highly desirable
Experience
10+ years in relevant position
Public accounting preferred
License/Certification
Active CPA license is required
Legal/Compliance
Must complete acknowledgement of Independence Guidelines and Ethical Standards document
Government engagements require ability to obtain a security clearance from the United States government
