Summary
This Associate opportunity is in the field of Electrical/Controls Engineering. This is a 2-year rotational program where you will move from one function to another, as well as potentially move to other company locations in the US every 6-12 months. The goal is for the Associate to transition into a specific role at one location at the end of the 2 years based on the experience and skill set the individual has developed over the course of the program.

This individual will play an integral role in driving and supporting our business goals and objectives as an Electrical and Controls Projects Associate for a 2-year rotational assignment beginning July 2024. During this program you will have the opportunity to be engaged in supporting key capital investments. The ideal candidate will be an energetic self-starter looking to learn the essential functions of project management, troubleshooting electrical and controls issues on modern and legacy equipment, change management, process improvement, and more. Roles And Responsibilities
  • Core responsibilities will vary depending upon rotational assignment. Assignments will be determined based on business needs and associate's development needs. Assignments may be provided in the areas of electrical and controls engineering, project management and associated documentation as well as troubleshooting technical issues on assets, to name a few.
  • Examples of core responsibilities may include:
  • Support ad hoc projects and deliverables in any engineering or maintenance area as needed.
  • Integrate and write instruction manuals for new equipment.
  • Program human-machine-interface units (HMI), Specify PLC, I/O, associate components, communication cabling and connections.
  • Develop and implement electrical and mechanical preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Modify and create electrical schematics.
Qualifications (experience)
  • Strong project management and attention to detail is a must, along with the ability to multi-task on a wide variety of assignments/projects.
  • Excellent analytical skills and creative problem-solving capabilities.
  • A minimum of 1-year experience in electrical/controls engineering or project management is preferred (internships count towards experience).
  • Knowledge in VFDs such as Rockwell Automation PowerFlex drives and/or Siemens G120 /S120 drives.
  • Ability to modify or write PLC programs using Rockwell Studio 5000 or Siemens TIA Portal.
  • Ability to use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment to repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits and equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair electrical controls, industrial motor control centers and programmable logic controllers.
  • Ability to read and interpret commercial electrical blueprints and apply NEC through the full range of commercial and industrial maintenance work.
  • Ability to isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment.
  • Ability to work well with others and complete assignments on time.
  • Must possess high ethical standards and able to maintain confidentiality of all data and files.
  • Proficient Computer skills in MS Office such as Word, Excel, and Power Point; familiarity with AutoCAD or EPlan.
  • Experience with NFPA 70 and/or 70E is a plus.
Education Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university as a rising senior, pursuing a bachelor's degree program studying Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering or Mechatronics, or other closely related field of study.
Physical Requirements And Environment
  • Potential musculoskeletal stresses from repetitive motion of arms/hands, standing for prolonged periods, performing frequent bending and twisting motions, lifting of light weight objects
  • Steady hands and dexterity to perform tasks repeatedly and accurately
  • Perform tasks that require constant state of alertness.
  • Work performed in laboratory environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials
  • Work performed in production area with potential exposure to large equipment/machinery and loud noises
