A Michigan-based engineering consulting firm is looking to grow their in-house design team with the addition of an experienced Mechanical Designer. The Mechanical Designer will partner with a team of engineers and designers on a wide range of construction, HVAC, piping, structural steel, electrical engineering, and other projects.
Onsite Location: Kalamazoo, MI or Holland, MI
Mechanical Designer Responsibilities:
Contribute to a wide range of consulting projects including:
Develop building and equipment layout Floor Plans
Create layouts and 3D drawings of Mechanical Piping and Industrial Process Piping
Develop P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation) plans
Design HVAC layout and duct routing
Design Structural Steel plans for buildings, structures, platforms etc.
Design Electrical Power plans
Design Electrical Single line diagrams and Control Panel layouts and wiring diagrams
Utilize Bentley, AutoCAD, and MicroStation design programs
Requirements:
3+ years work experience as a Designer, including mechanical piping and HVAC design
Experience with some of the above listed areas of design projects (i.e. HVAC, industrial piping, structural steel plans, electrical power plans, etc.)
Proficiency with design software including AutoCAD, Bentley, or MicroStation
Adaptability and willingness to execute a wide variety of engineering design tasks depending on project needs
