This is an amazing opportunity for a Senior Market Analyst to join a renewable energy trading company who primarily trade around BESS, Solar, and Wind to help reduce grid volatility. They have built an industry leading algorithmic optimization trading platform, focusing on energy storage and renewable assets globally.
They are looking for a Quantitative Trader with extensive experience in US Power Markets to lead the development of market analytics and trading tools.
Responsibilities:
Collaborating with the trading team to devise effective trading and optimization strategies, encompassing congestion management and forward hedging, while catering to clients' risk preferences.
Taking the lead in crafting market analytics and trading tools.
Establishing and upholding DCOPF and power flow models, initially focusing on the ERCOT market.
Assisting the business development team in defining and pricing structured products.
Offering advisory services to clients, engaging in revenue simulations and other analytical tasks.
Aiding the Data Science team in commercial data analytics, modeling, and feature selection.
Formulating business cases for new data sources, services, and technologies to enhance business performance
Requirements:
A degree with a significant quantitative component, such as computer science, engineering, economics, or mathematics.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in energy trading and analytics, consulting, or energy market modeling, demonstrating familiarity with US wholesale power markets.
Proficiency in Monte-Carlo models and simulations.
Demonstrated ability to comprehend complex issues and devise innovative solutions.
Experience with relational and/or non-relational databases for big data (e.g., SQL).
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and big data tasks (e.g., Pandas, numpy).
Thorough understanding of ERCOT market dynamics and regulations specific to ERCOT.
Experience in credit and risk management, risk modeling, or post-trade analytics.
Experience in energy modelling software (Aurora, PELXOS etc)
