The Land Analyst will provide general Land and Land Administrative services to many oil and gas clients using a variety of systems. They will serve as a key member of the Land Administration team located in our Northwest, Houston office with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:
Review and analysis of clients' Oil & Gas Leases, ROWs, Surface Agreements, Material Contracts, Property Records and other appropriate documents in Opportune's land systems, providing guidance to land staff regarding client land activity
Ability to provide valuable Land and Land Administration services and manage clients' varying demands
Perform interest calculations, title review, preparation of document exhibits, and general research regarding client assets
Assist Division Order Analysts with deck issues such as resolution of post-production deductions, title suspense issues, well curative and other issues
Act as a resource, as well as resolve a variety of issues with State, Federal and Indian lands
Review title & possess familiarity of a wide variety of legal documents, to include: Mineral Deeds, Joint Operating Agreements, Assignments, Farmins, Farmouts, Unitization/Communitization Agreements, Oil and Gas Leases, Rights of Way and Surface Use Agreements, among many others
Provide comprehensive, detailed reports to management regarding client land work
Work closely with Land Managers, as well as JIB, Revenue and Production departments
Qualifications:
This position requires a bachelor's degree. Candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience in Land Administration.
Working knowledge of Land Systems. Experience with BOLO is preferred.
Written and verbal communication skills; excellent customer service skills with internal and external parties
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications such as Word and Excel
Ethically responsible and willing to accept full responsibility for completion of assignments
Flexibility, resourcefulness, multi-tasking, problem-solving, time management, and organization skills required with meticulous attention to detail
Self-starter, ability to work independently at assigned tasks and to work as a team member within the department
Willingness to accept a work schedule with various demands which will vary as departmental workload/projects fluctuate
Potential travel to client offices required (< 25%)
