Meeks Resourcing is partnered with a power generation company, which is a portfolio company of a major private equity firm. They are adding a new position to the organization to support substantial growth opportunities. This pivotal role will support the development of innovative financing strategies for development projects, acquisitions, and existing portfolio companies.
Primary Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts with a specific focus on project development, construction, operations, and related financing (ex: non-recourse project financings, equity returns, construction expenditures, etc.) • Provide quantitative, decision-oriented analysis that will support short-, medium-, and long-term development projects • Analyze and forecast funding sources and uses of capital and liquidity • Assist in preparation of presentations on potential investments to diverse audiences, including management, sponsors, and lenders
Skills & Experience Requirements: • 2-6 years of experience in a business development, project finance, or structured finance role; experience with developing financial projections for new build power plants is preferred • Prior experience in the power generation / energy industry is required; understanding of general power plant operations and energy markets is strongly preferred • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities specifically associated with project financing, construction projects and off-take agreements • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Engineering, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or similar quantitative field • MBA, CFA, or similar graduate level degree with a specialty in Finance is favorably considered • Advanced knowledge of Excel and financial modeling • Ability/Experience to manage and organize detailed data and present the results of analyses clearly and concisely • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to successfully interact with board members, senior management, peers, subordinates, and external constituencies • Proven abilities to maintain confidential and proprietary information
