Job Description:

Position Overview: The Director of Benefits and HR Compliance will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and administration of our employee benefits programs. Additionally, this role will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of benefits administration, and a thorough knowledge of HR compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Benefits Management & Administration:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive benefits strategies that align with company objectives and employee needs.
  • Manage the administration of health, dental, vision, retirement, profiting sharing, and other employee benefit programs.
  • Evaluate and recommend changes to existing benefit plans to ensure competitiveness and cost-effectiveness.
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment process, communication, and employee education initiatives.

HR Compliance:
  • Ensure company compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and EEO.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures to mitigate compliance risks.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to monitor compliance and address any issues proactively.
  • Provide guidance and training to HR team and managers on compliance-related matters.

Strategic Planning:
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute HR strategies that support organizational goals.
  • Analyze benefits data and trends to identify opportunities for program improvements and cost savings.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to inform decision-making.

Team Leadership:
  • Lead and mentor the benefits and HR compliance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and other departments to ensure seamless execution of benefits and compliance initiatives.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to optimize service and costs.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in benefits administration and HR compliance, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and managing employee benefits programs.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation is a plus.
  • Comfortable in a decentralized environment
