Job Description

This position is responsible for assisting the Department Manager in the administration and supervision of the Post Closing Specialists with the day to day functions of timely and accurate quality reviews of closing documentation for first mortgage loans (including, but not limited to, FNMA conforming products, CHFA, El Paso Bond program, FHA and VA). This individual will also be responsible for day to day monitoring of the post-closing specialists workload, monitoring and assigning loans as necessary, assisting with training, participating on the management team, assisting with work priorities, implementing new requirements, streamlining workflows where possible, and member/staff complaint resolution. They will remain informed of current practices in Mortgage Lending. They will assist in developing internal work procedures and policies consistent with departmental and overall Credit Union goals.

Essential Functions


  • Responsible for overseeing the day to day functions to include scheduling, pipeline management, assessing and prioritizing the workload, recommend and implement process and procedural changes, and to provide support in answering questions relating to guideline interpretations and on specific files for all mortgage staff.

  • Coach and develop staff, address personnel issues, write and deliver performance evaluations, and assess and revise performance standards as needed.

  • Serves as the liaison for escalated situations for internal and external members, and 3rd party vendors.

  • Assist with the daily workload for staff out of office due to illness and vacation.

  • Keep up to date on Government and Investor Guidelines, and Credit Union Lending Policy and Procedures.

  • Work on special projects as needed, to include researching new loan programs, industry standards and new technology.

  • Bank Secrecy Act: Remains cognizant of and adheres to Ent policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.

Qualifications

Minimum Formal Qualifications for this Position


  • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or similar field of study

  • 2+ years combined Mortgage loan processing, closing or servicing.

  • 1+ years senior or team leadership experience

Each year of relevant work experience may be exchanged for a year in a relevant degree program or vice versa. For example, a requirement of a bachelor's degree in accounting and 2+ years of account experience could be substituted for a high school diploma and 6 years of relevant accounting work experience or a master's degree in accounting and 0 years of work experience.

Technical or Specialized Knowledge/Skills:


  • Extensive working knowledge of 1st mortgage products that may include Conventional, FHA, VA, construction, land and portfolio investment properties loans

  • Extensive knowledge of investor and lending regulatory guidelines

  • Ability to analyze member provided documentation (i.e. paystubs, credit reports, assets, tax returns, etc.), purchase contracts, title commitments, and recognize potential red flags/fraud

  • Ability to analyze and problem solve to create positive outcomes for all interested parties

  • Ability to prioritize/manage files and allocate resources

Additional Information

The pay range for this position is: $62,940.80 to $82,617.60 per Year (S15)

Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, certifications, and internal pay equity.
