CIVIL & ENVIRONMENTAL PRACTICE

Michael Baker International's civil engineering professionals manage and staff active projects in over 40 countries on five continents. Services are provided for a broad range of projects and capabilities, including highways, airports, bridges, rail and transit systems, government and commercial facilities, water and wastewater infrastructure, oil and gas infrastructure, and commercial/urban development. Our fields of expertise span all areas of civil engineering and include an extensive variety of specialty disciplines, such as environmental compliance and restoration, coastal engineering, urban development, and mining.

DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker International is actively seeking an Acquisition Agent/ Right of Way to join our well-established South Carolina Operations Team.
- Provide easement and/or land acquisition on assigned projects
- Have general understanding of SC real estate law and appraisal principles
- Be knowledgeable of all required regulations (federal, state, local, etc.)
- Prepare offer packages in accordance with SCDOT or local government standards
- Present and negotiate offers to impacted property owners while establishing a positive rapport with each tract owner
- Prepare tract settlement packages once agreement is approved and assist in closing tracts when needed
- Assist in training entry level ROW staff as needed

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Active SC Real Estate License
- Minimum of 4 years of Right of Way Acquisition experience preferred or equivalent Real Estate experience
- Minimum of 1 year of Relocation experience preferred
- SCDOT experience preferred
- SC Notary
- Ability to read and interpret project plans
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Should be comfortable interacting with diverse groups of people.
- Able to work efficiently and effectively under tight deadlines, as well as balance multiple projects by prioritizing effectively
- Demonstrated organizational, planning, and negotiation skills
- Analytical and able to problem solve
- Must be proficient with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook, and databases such as SharePoint or equivalent
- English language proficient
- Valid Driver's License
- Must possess "team player" attitude and ensure all projects are completed by let schedule
- Responsible for providing weekly updates to management
- May require weekend hours
- Be able to think out of the box when confronted with challenging situations or conversations

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is 56 to 85K. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
