Job Description:

Michael Baker International has an exciting Internship opening within the Traffic/ITS group to support our NJ offices on a variety of transportation projects. You will leverage your engineering knowledge and skills to assist in the preparation of basic studies, construction documents, drawing, maps, reports and supporting documentation and calculations. Depending on your experience, you will use CAD techniques to prepare construction documents.

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Support the design of traffic signals, signing & pavement markings, intelligent transportation systems, roadway lighting, and traffic control.
  • Perform traffic engineering analysis for operations, transportation planning studies and/or transit planning.
  • Assist with plan development, draft details and minor ACAD revisions.
  • Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.
  • Perform field data collection.
  • Summarize findings and write reports.
  • Work under supervision of a project manager or a senior level team member.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering at an accredited University or College, currently enrolled and in good academic standing; minimum of 2 years of coursework completed
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Previous experience as an Intern in a transportation planning/engineering setting desired
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat and CADD experience

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is $20 - $24 per hour. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
