Our client is seeking an UC Engineer in Hollywood, FL.


Role Description


• Provides expert technical support and recommendations for existing and expanding Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) networks, services, system upgrades, and equipment purchases.
• Monitors and identifies capacity, quality and performance issues for VoIP traffic to ensure continued, uninterrupted operation of telephony systems.
• Collaborates with network engineers and/or administrators to ensure that VoIP traffic is marked and afforded proper treatment in Quality of Service (QoS) policies.
• Maintains service provider relationships with a focus on troubleshooting VoIP related issues and procurement of new products and services.
• Creates and maintains documentation/diagrams on existing and future design and configuration.
• Performs troubleshooting of system failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long-term efficiency of the voice network.
• Monitors and evaluates voice network performance and identifies areas of improvement.
• Monitors and optimizes resources to establish higher operating efficiency and minimize incidents.
• Researches and recommends new technologies to expand service offerings and increase levels of service and reliability.
• Collaborates and works closely with the Service Desk in issues related to open working tickets in the ticketing system queue. Provides technical direction to junior members of the team as well as service desk personnel.
• Attends seminars, workshops, and meetings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
• Ensures high level of service and accountability in the process of resolving requests, supporting daily operations and meeting customer needs.
• Attends and participates in staff meetings and other activities and events, as requested.


Skills & Requirements


• Must possess experience with administration and support of Call Manager, Unity, Unified Contact Center, and WebEx.
o Will utilize all products an equal amount
o 60% of responsibility
• Must possess experience with VoIP- and SIP-based communications, with a primary focus on WebEx.
o 30% of responsibility
• Possess experience providing expert technical support and recommendations for existing and expanding Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) networks, services, system upgrades, and equipment purchases.
• Must possess some level of knowledge with network technologies (inclusive but not limited to DNS, routing, firewalls, VPNs and network monitoring)
o 10% of responsibility
• Webex
• Webex Contact Center
• InformaCast
• CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ certification is highly desirable.
• Cisco Certified Network Professional Collaboration (CCNP Collaboration) certification is desirable.
• Experience configuring/troubleshooting/setting up Informacast
• Experience with any scripting or command line programming language (e.g., PowerShell)
