Mission/Role:
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing structural engineering services with a focus on substation & renewable energy projects. Your expertise will contribute to the successful execution of critical infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Structural Design and Analysis:
- Conduct structural design for high voltage substations, ensuring compliance with codes and industry standards.
- Perform analysis and design calculations for various structural components.
- Prepare and review design drawings and specifications.
- Conduct condition assessments of existing structures.
- Develop remedial work options and cost estimates.
- Evaluate structural performance and recommend improvements.
- Manage major and minor design projects from inception to completion.
- Supervise other engineers and CAD technicians.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
Mentoring and Leadership:
- Assist in mentoring junior staff.
- Support the development of less experienced engineers.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6-7 years of experience in structural engineering, including design and condition assessment.
- BS in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- Professional Engineering License
- Proficiency in structural behavior and materials, especially concrete & steel.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in computer analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP, RISA, RAM, SAFE).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD (experience with Revit and/or Sketchup is a plus).
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
