Job duties



Collaborate with teammates for maintaining and improving internal record keeping policies to ensure that database management systems and program records are up-to-date, accurate, and complete. Recommend action to program managers and participants for improvement or correction of any deficiencies or operational performance within the incumbent's assigned functional area of grant management and fiscal compliance, along with other programs, to ensure the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) work is effectively meeting the programs goals throughout the State in accordance with federal and state requirements. Assist the Community Development Manager in collecting, analyzing, and meeting program reporting requirements for grant activity expenditures and accomplishments, including working with other team members and program subrecipients. Review, support, and update program documentation submitted by local governments through grant application, implementation, and completion, including the CDBG program. Complete other responsibilities as assigned and within the scope of the classification.



Requirements / Qualifications:




Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in any discipline related to the work assigned. Experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications: Experience in federal grant management or reporting, project management, economic or community development, accounting, bookkeeping, customer service, development of policies and procedures, and/or experience with communities in rural Nebraska.



Other: Regular and reliable attendance is required. This position requires occasional travel and overnight stays, including out-of-state-travel. As such, the incumbent must be able to present a valid driver's license or another form of reliable transportation.



Knowledg
e, Skills and Abilities



Financial, project, or grant management experience. Ability to work within a team framework, including organizing and leading team discussions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently under general supervision. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office programs, Adobe Acrobat, and project management software programs. Willingness to learn and an attention to detail.
